Our Design-Build Philosophy Is Designed With YOU In Mind.

All remodeling and new construction projects generally work one of three ways - you either do it yourself, you hire someone who "wings it" and hopes for the best, or you hire an architect to sell you his design, a contractor to try to build it, and subcontractors and suppliers all trying to get a share of the project.

But when you partner with Smith Home Improvements to work on your project, you are hiring one company to take personal interest and responsibility for your entire remodeling / building process.  You deal directly with the owners.  Allen will take a personal interest in your project from start to finish - and won't be satisfied with the completed project until YOU are.

How Does Design-Build Help YOU?

First of all, it insures your short-term satisfaction. One call, one team, one solution.  Rather than working with several different people & product vendors, you'll work with us.  We'll insure that the products you choose fit together with the style and design in the project.  If we design it, we guarantee it will come together and work as intended - without the typical situation where subcontractors blame each other and nothing gets resolved.  You can also rest assured that our cost estimates will be accurate and will fall within your project budget.

Many contractors try to sell a "package" cookie-cutter design, and try to convince you that their pre-determined product and design is what you want.  But we don't do things that way, because we are also committed to your long-term satisfaction.

We listen to you - your desires, your dreams, your goals - and then work with you to formulate a design that puts that all together.  Then we work with you to adjust the plan to guarantee the "little things" are also exactly what you want - practical considerations and functional usefulness.  We match your lifestyle, space usage, and personal needs and desires into the design.  It's a detailed process that guarantees the result will be exactly what you dreamed it would be.

We also work with you on determining the most cost-effective methods and materials for you.  You aren't stuck with whatever materials and fixtures a builder might want to be over-stocked on, or what he got on sale from the back of a passing pickup truck.  We strive to use quality products that will last and function better than bargain sell-off's, but when cheaper options are available without compromising your safety or satisfaction, we'll suggest these as well.  Ultimately, you are in control of the products and pricing as the design process unfolds.

Before building or remodeling begins, we will provide a complete set of drawings and blueprints, together with product specifications, all ready to build.  Because of this, there will be no surprises for anyone involved, building inspectors will be satisfied, and ultimately the period from start to finish of actual disruption to your schedule

When the project is completed, you will be secure in knowing you have one company to lean on should there ever be a problem.  Because we generally do our own work rather than rely on subcontractors who may come and go, we stand behind the work.  We keep detailed records concerning the project should they be needed at a later date - even including the paint color on the walls - and we're always here to help.

An Integrated Process

Working with us throughout the design and construction process guarantees:

  • Reduced Cost

  • Shorter Construction Time

  • Higher Quality

  • Greater Satisfaction

The ultimate advantage?  The integration of the entire project into a consistent, singular process from beginning to end means that your headache, and your potential heartache, is gone - enabling you to enjoy not only the process itself, but also the final project, for years to come.

For Smaller Projects

Even the smallest of projects will benefit from Allen's relentless attention to detail as he thoroughly considers all aspects of the project at hand.  There is a balance between what looks great and what is functional & economically feasible; things to consider include building codes, functionality, useability, and buildability - in addition to be aesthetically pleasing.
